Juniata 24 Hour Release Status
No official Juniata County or Mifflin County Correctional Facility page displayed a rolling 24-hour release feed during the official-site and targeted sweep. The search also found no current MCCF roster, release archive, sheriff jail app, update schedule, retention period, or county photo stream. This is not proof that no internal gate log exists. It means no public online list was verified and no list fields can be claimed as displayed.
Juniata County's prison closed in 2012. MCCF now holds Juniata prisoners in Lewistown. The physical release record is therefore most likely an MCCF-created record, while bail, disposition, and sentence documents may remain with the Juniata court. A same-day search must respect that two-county split.

The agency need not compile data that it does not keep in that form. Why Juniata Releases Can Lag
The MCCF Family Handbook says release may not occur at once after bail is posted or release otherwise becomes due. The proper court paperwork must reach the facility. Workload can also affect processing, though MCCF says release follows as soon as practical. No fixed release hour, exit door, public waiting area, or standard delay was published.
This timing gap matters most on a same-day check. A docket entry may show that a judge authorized bail or entered a disposition, while MCCF is still processing papers and checking holds. A planned release can also become a transfer if another agency has a valid detainer. The physical release entry or completed custody event is stronger proof than the earlier legal timestamp.
A person still in MCCF custody should not be called released. A person transferred from MCCF has left that facility but remains in custody. A direct release ends the reported jail episode and leads to the community, sometimes under probation or county parole.
Juniata Bail and Release Timing
During court hours, the MCCF handbook directs bail questions and payment to the court authority holding the case, such as the Magisterial District Court or Prothonotary. After hours, MCCF may accept a money order when court documents show the known bail amount. The person paying should have photo identification. A bondsman may be used where applicable, but that service is outside MCCF authority.
These rules explain why “bail posted” does not equal “released now.” Bail is a legal condition that can permit release while the case continues. Mifflin County is the logical primary custodian for MCCF booking and gate-release records. That is an inference from the official custody and central-booking arrangement, and the agency response should confirm it. Juniata County separately holds the criminal docket, filed orders, local probation records, and other records created by its agencies.
Use the Mifflin County Right-to-Know form for an archival release record. Ask for electronic copies and a cost estimate. No public MCCF retention period was found, so request the applicable retention schedule when timing matters. A response may also show that the facility keeps a named custody record but no prebuilt same-day list. That distinction should be preserved rather than recasting a partial production as a complete county feed.

A 24-hour boundary is useful only when its timestamps and update rule are known. MCCF publishes neither for a release feed. VINELink shows events rather than a full county interval. UJS dockets persist as legal records but do not update like a gate log. PADOC says its locator updates daily, yet that timing applies to state custody and supervision, not MCCF departures.
